Our story through generations
Immerse yourself in our family, discover our heritage, and let us share the unique story of Maison Payelle Père & Fils, where tradition and expertise are passed down from generation to generation.
"I"t was in Ambonnay, in the Marne, a 100% Grand Cru village in our beautiful Champagne region, that on March 1st, 1952, decided to create my vineyard and begin selling the harvest in bottles of Champagne."
""The bottles of Champagne were then sold under the label Champagne Payelle Jean, Propriétaire-Récoltant, Ambonnay. 100% Grand Cru."
"In 1970, my son Gérard began working alongside me. At that time, the labels became Champagne Payelle Père et Fils, Ambonnay Grand Cru 100%."
"A few years later, Gérard’s son, Fabrice, joined his father, and we continued working together as a family: expanding the vineyard and improving the quality of our Champagnes."

Jean Payelle
"In 1970, after a superb harvest described as the "harvest of the century", the parents ceased their activity.
We then took over the business in November. Éveline, discovered the world of viticulture; and me, Gérard, took over the reins of the estate, then consisting of 1 hectare 26."

"The following ten years were marked by modest harvests, but 1982 and 1983 finally brought good harvests. The farm expanded, driven by an increasingly loyal and present clientele."
Gerard & Eveline
Fabrice & Valérie
"After completing my viticulture and oenology studies and gaining valuable experience in other wine-growing areas, I returned to the business in 1991. After a few years of working as a team with my parents, they retired and my wife Valérie joined me in 1998 after her management studies.
Opportunities are opening up to us, we have been able to expand and develop Maison Payelle.
Today, every important decision is discussed with our two daughters, Florine and Margaux."
